Bobby Brown Released From Prison 10
Days Early

Singer Bobby Brown was released late last week from the
North Broward Detention Center in Pompano Beach, Fla.,
MTV reported on its Web site. Brown, who had been
sentenced to 75 days for various parole violations, was
set free 10 days earlier than the July 18 date that a
judge had sentenced him in early June. He was let go
sooner on the basis of good behavior. Brown's wife, pop
music songstress Whitney Houston, met him at the prison
upon his release, which was a little after midnight.
Comedian Chris Rock, who was taping a mock vigil segment
for his television show on cable giant HBO, accompanied
Houston. "I just want to be with my family and my
friends," Brown told the reporters who gathered
outside of the detention center. "I'm going home to
spend the summer with my kids and work on my life."
